Assuming that the word “Geography” literally means “description of the world”, it is important to consider what is the geographic gaze through which this description is constructed and spread. Images of various types can be a source of geographical knowledge, but each image can be seen differently, based on the culture and knowledge of the viewer. For this reason, the contribution aims to evaluate the eye tracker tool for its possible use in the field of geographical research, proposing working hypotheses related in particular to cartographic representations, trying to conceptualize a methodological framework to structure the surveys carried out using the eye tracker device and their interpretation.
